D'Angelico Electric Guitar Jazz Stainless Steel Flatwound Medium, .013 - .056, FW-MtoddAugust 28, 2011Terrible strings. The windings are screwed up for a couple inches past the ball end; if you don't have much space between your tail piece to the bridge saddles, you're screwed. Theses are the driest, stickiest strings I've ever felt, very uncomfortable to play. And last but not least, the .13 e'' string is NOT a .13 and so the sound drops out of consistency with the other strings on the high e. I made the mistake of "trying" 3 sets, I checked and the other 2 sets also have the wrong gauge e''. I don't have a micrometer but I've played .13 Chromes for 5 years and there's NO WAY theses are .13.s They feel and sound (in comparison to the rest of the set) like .10. Loss of sound going to the high e is enormous. Overall tone is not "bad" but nothing to write home about. The bass E and A strings have the best sound, I kind of liked the tone of those 2 strings, but they still fell terrible. Maybe I'll try a little "fast fret" and use the e and a as part of a custom set. I will never but these strings again. Delivery was fast so no complaints about Just Strings but they need to drop this brand.
