C.F. Martin Resophonic Guitar Strings

“These strings sing FATNESS” exclaims a customer who finds Martin resonator strings an excellent match for his guitar. Made of nickel wound and silvered plain steel strings this set will give you smooth slides and volume you need.

Resonator, or resophonic, guitars have metal cone(s) in the body to amplify the sound of an acoustic guitar. In the 1920’s before electric amplification, these guitars were developed to help the acoustic guitar’s sound not be overwhelmed by the brass and percussion sections of dance orchestras. However, with amplifiers now in use, they have become appreciated for their distinctive sound as much as their elevated volume. Resonator guitars are often found in bluegrass and blues music for this very reason.
