"Our new Martin SP™ Studio/Performance Series strings are ideal live, in the studio, or wherever maximum string life is desired. The creation of these new high performance strings is a result of research done in cooperation with specialty steel producers. Due to the development of an industry leading ultra-high quality steel core, Martin SP strings resist breakage better than average strings. In addition, both the core wires and the plain strings are plated with a smooth, acoustic bronze finish. Though this golden bronze finish does enhance the beauty of your guitar, it's purpose is much more functional - to prolong brightness, string life, and superior tonal quality to meet the high expectations of demanding musicians. Martin SP strings are available in 80/20 Bronze extra-light, custom light, light and medium gauges for 6-string acoustic guitars and an extra-light gauge for 12-string acoustic guitars."

C.F. Martin Acoustic Guitar Six String 80/20 Bronze Medium, .013 - .056, MSP-32005Steve BeckwithOctober 29, 2009I use these on the dreads and jumbo guitars that I build, during gigs and in the studio. They have a great sound and a good life. I recommend them to most of my guitar customers (whether buying an instrument or if I'm repairing/setting-up an instrument for them. I also string my 000/0M size guitars with the SP Lights. Steve Beckwith Strings C.F. Martin Acoustic Guitar Six String 80/20 Bronze Medium, .013 - .056, MSP-32005Matthew ActonAugust 15, 2009Original equipment on my HD-28, and still the best sounding string that I have found for it. Bright, punchy, long sustain, with really wonderful overtones permeating the resonance. It is the benchmark I measure other brands against, and most sound muted and "soft" next to this. I tried others but keep coming back to Martins. They have a decent life span too. |
