C.F. Martin Acoustic Guitar Martin Flexible Core FX Silk & Phosphor .011 - .047, MFX-1305kabJuly 1, 2011These Strings sound great on my Blueridge 60AS. I'm kind of a string junky, I've tested the following which are all Light and 80/20. Elixir nanos, JP, D addario's, Martin SP's & FX core. Others I've tested are, La Bella Silk & Steel, Martin m130 Folk, JP pure Nickel, GHS vintage Bronze, Red strings, and Phosphor Bronze From Brands Above. Also JP Phosphor Bronze Silk & Steel. My conclusion is that the MFX-130 are my all time favorites. Outstanding Sustain & Definition. Each string truly has a voice of its own blending together for great strumming. They are great for finger style due to their definition. Harmonics are also outstanding not only on the 12th fret, but on some of the more difficult - 9th, 7th, 5th frets. Bar chords are a breeze for quick changes, the tension is slightly higher than the M-130 Folks, but less than 80/20's. I was also surprised that I didn't here any tin on the E & B strings. I'm a fan of the M-130 Folk strings along with the Red Brand Extra Lights or Standard Lights. The M-130 Folks just don't have the volume for me on this size guitar, however they do compare to my description above in every way to the mfx-130. As far as the Red Brand, I like the warmth, the lows and the harmonics of those strings. It comes down to 3 strings for me on this guitar. 1 - MFX130's, 2 - Red Brand Lights or Extra Lights, 3 - M130 Folk Strings. I've been using light strings because I have fat fingers so any extra space between the strings I'll take. At least until I get my parlour guitar. The M130 Folk might really shine on a parlour. I hope someone can find this long winded review useful, Jam on...
